History of Bayelsa Queens Football Club.

Bayelsa Queens Football Club started as Garden City Angels in 1998 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The founder of the club was Elder John Pinaowei. Elder John Pinaowei moved down to his home State of Bayelsa, and that was when he decided to change the name of the club from Garden City Angels to Bayelsa Queens Football Club in the year 2000.

Then it was still run as a private football club by the founder, Elder John Pinaowei, and was getting subvention from the Bayelsa State Government. In 2003, when Prince Ebitimi Amgbare was appointed Commissioner for Sports, that he thought it wise to take over the running of the club, because according to him the name means a lot to the State. And so Bayelsa Queens Football Club was finally bought over from Elder John Pinaowei, who was the original owner of the club, and he was made the pioneer Chairman, this was in 2003.

Bayelsa Queens Football Club was officially taken over by the Late Chief Diepreye Solomon Peter Alamieyesegha, led administration in 2003.
