Dr Igali demands dedication from players

Bayelsa State Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon. Dr Baraladei Daniel Igali (Oly), has urged players of Bayelsa Queens FC to show dedication in the preparations for the 2026-27 NWFL season.

The Commissioner gave the advice in his address to the players after training on Thursday, at the Samson Siasia Stadium.

Dr. Igali enjoined the players to follow the instructions of the coaches and be dedicated to duty.

“I want you all to obey the rules and regulations of the coach as we prepare for the new campaign,” Dr. Igali said.

Dr Igali who is an Olympic gold medallist, also said the players welfare is top priority for the State Government lead by Governor Douye Diri and assured them that all they needed will be provided for them and they will be well taken care of.

‘Football is an exciting sport that requires skill, strategy, and determination. Every football player needs a little motivation from time to time in order to reach their full potential and that is what the State Government is here to do’.

He urged the players to trust themselves, trust their teammates and trust their coaches as well and said once they have earned that trust, there is nothing stopping them from doing what needs to be done in order for success to follow.

‘Focus on the things that matter most. Do not let distractions and the outside world push your focus off the path of your teammates and their goals. Winning is not an excuse to slack on your work or to slack in leadership,’ Dr. Baraladei Daniel Igali added.
